Rockingham

40 minutes south of Perth by car, the safe, sandy beaches and sheltered waters of Rockingham are ideal for aquatic activities such as swimming, boating, sailing, diving, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing, and more recently, skydiving. Home of the beautiful Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, the many offshore islands are added attractions, with their sculpted limestone rocks, little coves and reef areas make for stunning scenery.

Awarded the State’s best beach, you can simply enjoy a quiet walk along the water at sunset where you may catch a glimpse or hear the splash of the resident dolphins nearby. The foreshore in Rockingham overlooks the white sandy beaches and offers families plenty of shady trees to picnic under and playgrounds for the kids. Stay the night at a selection of accommodation choices, or enjoy a picnic by the beach and a Penguin Island visit for an enjoyable day trip. There are also plenty of restaurants and beach side cafes to chose from. Contact the Rockingham Visitor Centre for accommodation choices and further information.
